The Grafton 121 (so called following last years’ celebration of the club’s120th anniversary) was staged on a perfect Autumn afternoon; a full house of 32 tennis entries were paired in mixed-standard partnerships which played a round-robin stage of three sets;the top two of each group progressed to a knockout stage and the bottom two to a Plate. After nearly five hours of highly enjoyable fun tennis, newcomers Matt Barker and Jonny Kuhles emerged victorious with Kirsty Ogilvie and Paul Archer winning the Plate.
Several squash players contested a fun handicap tournament devised by Jon Corke.
Cups were hoisted and Radek provided his own delicious brand of BBQ (not your nuked burgers and bangers) to polish off a great day; next up is an American Tournament on October 24 (1300).
