The first team had a good start to the second half of the season, with a relatively comfortable 4-1 win over David Lloyd Hampton. Stuart Roberts won easily 3-0 at no. 1, Sean lost 3-2. Jon Gray won 3-1 by default after opponent retired at 1 game all. After a solid start new 1st team recruit Ben lost his way but stuck in it for a 10-8 win in the fifth at number 4, and Peter stitched his opponent up with some classic vintage backhand lob serves and drops from the back of the court to win 3-1 at number 5.
Perhaps when you next see Jon in the bar, you should ask him exactly why his opponent retired after the first 2 games……….
