The 2nd team have had a magnificent end to the season and with one
match to go have secured a fabulous mid-table position in the highly
competitive Surrey Cup Division 7. Following their incredible
promotion last season the squad has faced some tough encounters, often
against vastly more experienced opponents, some even wearing limb-supports.
Having won an amazing five out of 15 matches and featured in a
stunning 19-0 reverse, it has been a truly remarkable season for this
group of talented young players. Team captain Jon Corke said: “I’m
proud of the boys. Each week they’ve turned out and put in some great
performances, normally lost, but then hit the bar and drank more beers
than the opposition. And that’s the important thing.”
